This previous week in the independent study and mentorship program, I began finalizing my interview date and time for my last interview before I chose my mentor. The journey of interviewing has brought me to learn more about my topic. As I continued to interview different professionals within the project management scope, I learned about the different areas of project management like events, software, products, and many more. Though each of them is are project manager in some way; they each bring something different in terms of their specialized roles within their company. When interviewing I always manipulated the aspect of my broad questions to gain insights about the professional's specialized role. By doing so, I was able to compare and contrast afterward the roles and which I designated the most. In regards to my last interview, before I select my mentor, I hope that despite the outcome I will be able to garner more knowledge and learning measures on client initiatives within project management.
Along with interviews, I began constructing my display board for my ISM program. From selecting the color theme to design initiatives I will incorporate, I began to plan out what I wanted to showcase on my board. As I was planning out my board, I realized that the development of the display board ties into the pivotal stages of project management: Define, Collect, Plan, Develop, Monitor, and Close. These stages will be encompassed into the development of the board from now to the end of the program, as I will have to constantly monitor the pieces I use and change them based on the additions I will have to make. This proves that Project management does not only allot to a wide range of career fields but also any individual's daily life in terms of the tasks they take on.
