This past week in ISM, was slower than usual as I have nothing major planned for the week. However, the one thing I was constantly doing everyday was researching professionals to connect with (in hopes of finding a mentor). Instead of doing a mass search on project managers or professors of business management, I started taking a step back and researching companies in the Dallas- Forth Worth metroplex. By doing so I was able to learn more about different companies which are located in Dallas and what they do. From this research I was able to obtained knowledge on different companies which I could find project managers (or equivalent) in. Even though taking this step back could be a potentially risk on time, I hope to learn more about different project managers I can connect with through researching major and minor companies as well as professors.
Subsequently, I began creating a mock outline of how I would like to tackle my original work. Though I provided a procedure of it in my original work proposal, I wanted to created a well constructed yet flexible schedule which I can follow in hopes of developing my final outcome. As the new week starts I hope to further connect with professionals to potentially schedule more interviews (or meet ups) and I hope to officially start my original work process through researching more on project management and its methodologies.
