As this previous week ended, I was able to take into consideration what exactly I wanted my topic of study to delve into. I wrote my topic proposal and did my research assessment, which allowed me to gain a broader understanding of what I actually wanted to study.
As I did my research assessment I was able to dive deeper into how COVID-19 had affected project management. These past few weeks I began to dive deeper into the effects of the pandemic on project management and client management. I got a chance to learn more about how the transition from an in-person workplace setting to a virtual one affected employees. From this transition, the quality of effective communication used in the completion process of a project gradually was not not improving resulting in a decrease of client satisfaction and engagement in these projects. As I started writing my topic proposal I began to question what exactly needs to be done in order to improve effective communication to increase client engagement and how I can contribute to this cause.
Today, we started practicing for our professional symposium that is coming up. We made elevator speeches about ourselves and our topic of study and began practicing with our peers. This allowed us to see what type of body language we should have, and how to have a firm handshake, and eye contact, which could help us impose a great first impression on our interviewer. Hopefully, by the end of this week, I will be able to research more in-depth about the COVID-19 effects on client engagement in projects and will be able to practice interviewing with my peers.
