This past week in ISM was quite eventful with the assignments that needed to be completed. Along with this, I was able to connect with more professionals and began emailing professionals within the business management field. Though my Independent Study and Mentorship topic of study is client-project management, I was allotted more professionals in my research if I searched with the broader aspect of business management. By doing so I was able to find and connect with my first interviewee who is a youth service manager. Even though they are not a project manager I will be able to gain more insight on the different types of management; as it can help me develop a better understanding of who can be a part of a project manager team.
Additionally, I constructed my original work proposal which consists of developing a pamphlet and website on client-project management. In my original work, I aim to convey what I know of project management and what I have been learning about this topic through this ISM journey. As I wanted my work to be displayed as a resource to students and professionals alike I aim to develop it into 2 parts: pamphlet and website. I wanted the pamphlet to symbolize what I gained from being in ISM (research and knowledge) and create a guide on what exactly is client-project management. Along with this I wanted the website to be a tool that professionals could look at for intel.
As the week goes on I plan to connect with more individuals and potentially have more interviews at school. I also plan to research more on implications to include in my original work and research. Hopefully, my interview scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2023, goes well and I will be able to learn more about youth service management and how it can correlate with client-project management.
