Finding Professionals

This past week in ISM, I began researching potential interviewees (or Mentors) in my topic of study, Project Management. I began looking on Linkedin, researching project managers in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area and seeing the work some of these professionals I had found have done in this field have accomplished. I mainly looked through their accomplishments as a way for me to see if what they are doing connects with my ongoing research in the Independent Study and Mentorship Program and if it is something I would like to learn more about. However, through conducting this research I was faced with many problems, as project managers at a more corporational/business based projects are harder to find than regular project managers in construction project management. After, conversing my teacher Mr. Green, he advise me to look at a broader level of business management as that could help me find individuals in the field of management that could have had experience in project management or are involved in something related to projects and teams.

Though I have not found and connected with many professionals of this field yet, I hope with this coming week I will have a greater chance at finding and connecting with such professionals which could help amplify my knowledge in this field of business management. As I began thinking of what I would like my original work to be I hope to gain insight through researching and connecting with individuals after viewing how they have made an impact in their job and connect it all back to my main question on how can I help increase client engagement in significant projects.
